Being one of the most popular open source content management systems, Drupal, takes a big step towards the new version with huge changes. Few of the important changes that will affect the interaction of the users are:

  • A brand new admin interface, that overlays the content and is easily accessible through any page
  • Much better support for WYSIWYG editors
  • A new input type that will make it much less complicated to add content
  • Content construction kit and some other important modules made their way into the core, which makes adding new content types supported by default
  • A file field and an image field is already available for use

For more details, download and the release schedule, you can visit Drupal project page.

Update: You can find the official blog entry about the release here.
